Reign Supreme

Did you think this was a blog over governments, dictatorship, or empires? HA, PSYCH. Energy drink review coming at ya. And its one heck of a discovery for me, much like Alexander the great, I feel like conquering right now. I ‘m especially spry because today I chose to try out Reign energy and let me tell ya, I could play chess on the back of a donkey upside down in a hailstorm in outer space while tap dancing and wouldn’t lose focus.

Okay, I’ll cool it on the metaphors. (for now.) I have only done one of these reviews so far and that drink, the OG monster energy, had already won my heart before I reviewed it. But, this reign drink I had today gave my beloved a run for its money. I drank the Lemon HDZ version(no I have no idea what the HDZ stands for) and it honestly surprised the crap out of me. I am the worst at trying new things because I know what I like, and for me to try and change that status quo when I already have something I like doesn’t make much sense to me.(which makes me wonder why I chose to do this sort of thing). But all that aside, this new drink is a winner.

Reign is a relatively new brand that I had first seen being advertised this last summer with Game of Thrones “The Mountain” actor Hafthor Julius Bjornsson as the main celebrity endorser. I am a fan of his through both the show and his strongman career, so I don’t know what took me so long to try his energy drink.

Like i said before, I tried the lemon HDZ version and it had a really good flavor. It tasted a lot like Sprite with less carbonation. Sprite is fizzy enough to almost scald your throat sometimes and this drink was the same flavor, but no scalding. And unlike sprite, it had just a mild after taste of lemon. Even though it is classified as an energy drink, this drink was way different than a monster. With monster you know you are drinking “energy” and you can taste it. But this one was sneaky, it was a lot like a soft drink that just perked you up not long after you drank it. I honestly couldn’t even feel any energy boost of any kind, I just felt like my energy got to a nice level and plateaued. Another thing I really like was the focus that came with it. Where it “lacked” in energy, it more than made up for it when it comes to focus. My mind felt clear and I could actually think straight despite being worn out and feeling muggy. It is also a nice “entry level” energy drink where if you may have never had an energy drink before, it wont make you bounce off the walls.

In conclusion, this drink earned a 8/10 in my book. I took away some points because I’m not a huge fan of drinks that leave an aftertaste in my mouth. This drink wasn’t bad, I’m just picky when it comes to aftertaste. The best feature by far, was the focus this drink provides. If you have a test you need to study for, a class you need to pay attention in, or a video game you just can’t lose, this is the drink for you.

Thanks for reading my review of the Reign Energy drink, and as always, Stay woke.

  1. This drink sounds interesting! Maybe I should try this as my first energy drink because I like how you said you couldn’t feel an energy boost. I think I need to start out mild and work my way up!
